On the 14th July 2025, Ciência Viva had a internal event in the Pavilion of Knowledge: an exchange fair!

In this event, there was a chance to join the teams of the Pavilion and present the sustainability plan and discuss what can be done next! For example, suggestions were gathered for new measures from collaborators. From dialogue, sharing and some challenges, everyone got into the topic of sustainability.
Rosalia Vargas has framed the Living Science Sustainability Strategy that has been minimizing the ecological footprint of the Knowledge Pavilion. Giving continuity to a policy of commitment to the environment and to people, namely in the efficient management of water, energy, paper, CO2 emissions and waste. Among other objectives, a social responsibility policy, through the involvement of all people in our workforce ecosystem, is a priority.
After discussing some standards of consumption, food and mobility – results of the team survey – we went to the Fair… of the Exchanges. Books, clothing, accessories, decorative objects and educational games have found a new home.
In addition, Ivone Fachada, member of the Direction Board, presented the results of a questionnaire, with a focus on the workers´ mobility.
One of the main result shows that part of the team uses the car to the Pavilion, particularly for short distances…
Following these presentations, the exchange fair started and around 60% of clothing or books brought by the team, “had a new home”.
